Father and son were working side by side on a construction site when something went terribly wrong. The 56 year-old father was using an auger drill to lay future water lines when he slipped on the dirt after jumping off the auger platform. During the fall, his left arm slipped into a shoe box-sized hole in the spinning dirt remover.

His son saw everything, and thanks to his fast acting, probably saved his dad’s life. The man took off his belt and used it as a tourniquet to alleviate the bleeding on his father’s arm. He later found the arm under the equipment and put it in a cooler filled with ice.

The man is currently in stable condition and recovering from his injury.
