What is workers’ compensation?
Workers’ Compensation is a type of mandated insurance program that provides financial relief to workers that suffer a job-related injury or illness. Workers’ compensation is designed to cover the injuries or illnesses that one might encounter doing their job. This program is run on the federal level for federal employees, but each state has its own laws, regulations and procedures for their own programs. Workers’ compensation provides some benefits for medical bills, a portion of lost wages, and certain other considerations, regardless of who the party at fault was.
